Every Sunday I go swimming at the beach which is close to my house. Before going inside I walk in the restaurant and grab something to hydrate.
Last Sunday, early in the morning I was having a walk on the warm sand. I heard a loud cry from help and the cry seemed to be coming from the water.
Without thinking I rushed towards it. I found a woman standing and crying loudly. There was not anyone around at that time except for a girl who seemed to be drowning.
Without a moment of hesitation I jumped into the water. Fortunately I had learnt swimming and I was quite a good swimmer. I caught hold of the young woman in my arms and put her on my back. Slowly I swam back to the shore.
As I reached it the mother’s eyes were filled with tears of joy. But her daughter was unconscious and clearly it was not yet the proper moment for hugs.
I put the young girl on her stomach and started pressing the back. As the excessive water in her stomach come out through her mouth she opened her eyes. The mother and I were overjoyed. The mother had been taking her for a walk, then decided to look for some shells. She went a little too far and got too close to the water.
I thanked god who had given me strength to save the life of the unknown girl.
