I had saved had been saving all year and I still didn't have enough money. 1)Dad had cooked / had been cooking all morning and the kitchen smelled great. 2)They hadn't eaten/ hadn't been eating anything all day and they were really hungry. 3)Kevin had watched / had been watching the film five times and he still didn't really understand it. 4)They had walked/ had been walking 50 km before they saw anyone. 5)She failed the test because she hadn't written / hadn't been writing enough.
