Remember!
1. to be mad at somebody/smth: to express anger or irritation towards a certain person or thing=a-și exprima furia împotriva unui anumit lucru sau a unei persoane.
- to be mad about/for/on smth=to be crazy about smth/to like a lot smth=a fi înnebunit după ceva/cineva.
She's mad about writing songs ("mad" as in crazy or insane).
2. fed up: tired, dissapointed by a situation or experience that lasted for a long time=a fi obosit, dezamăgit din cauza unei situații sau experiențe care a fost de lungă durată.
3. Conditionals also known as "If Clauses":
- The Zero Conditional is used to express a general truth or a scientific fact. In this type of conditional we can use when instead of if.
If-clause Main Clause
If/when+present ⇒simple present simple
If/when you use computer too much your head hurts.
- The First Condtional is used to express a real or very probable situation in the present or future.
If-clause Main clause
If+present future simple, imperative, can/
simple ⇒ must, may etc+bare infinitive
If I wear these uncomfortable shoes, my feet might hurt.
- The Second Conditional is used to express an unreal or imaginary situation in the present or future which is not likely going to happen.
If-clause Main-clause
If+past simple ⇒ would+infinitive
If I studied, I would pass the test.
- The Third Conditional is used to express the result or the consequence of a situation in the past that didn't happen. It's something like the desire to change the past or better said, to rewind.
If-clause Main-clause
If+past perfect ⇒ would+have+past participle
If I had known, I would have told you earlier.
A piece of advice:
If the hyphotetis comes before the main clause, we separate them with a comma. When the main clause comes before the if-clause then we don't use a comma to separate them.
Example:
If I sleep late, my head will hurt.
My head will hurt if I sleep late.
